MOORESTOWN , NEW JERSEY (May 22, 2007) The Third Annual Miles Young Entrepreneur of Southern New Jersey Awards Reception, scheduled for Thursday, May 24 at 6:00 p.m. at The Enterprise Center at Burlington County College , will honor more than just the young entrepreneurs of Southern New Jersey . The event, created by Burlington County entrepreneur Chris Miles , a resident of Medford Lakes and a lifelong resident of Burlington County, will recognize the entrepreneurial spirit and innovative business energies of two leading entrepreneurs in the State of New Jersey Daniel Werremeyer, president of leading manufacture of orthopedic and diabetic footwear Instride Shoes, and Robert Sliwowski, better known throughout South Jersey as crabcake king Bobby Chez.
The Miles Award 2007 the third annual Miles Award event is presented in cooperation with Miles Technologies and the Entrepreneurs Forum of Southern New Jersey, working in cooperation with Rowan University . More than 150 attendees are scheduled to celebrate the Miles Award 2007 award winners and special honorees including Werremeyer and Sliwowski. Werremeyer is scheduled to give the keynote address at the leading South Jersey event, which will feature comments from leading representatives of Miles Technologies, Burlington County College , Rutgers University , the Entrepreneurs Forum of Southern New Jersey and SJ Magazine. Winners of the Miles Award 2007 will include young entrepreneurs operating successful businesses in Burlington , Camden and Gloucester Counties including several graduates of Rowan University .
Winners will be announced during the Miles Award 2007 awards presentation ceremony, starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, at The Enterprise Center at Burlington County College , Route 38, Mount Laurel , New Jersey . For the Miles Award 2007 ceremonies, young entrepreneurs will include a former Miss New Jersey, a young women who has started a public relations agency for animals, a 25-year-old entrepreneur who grew his Burlington County business from $1 million to $4 million within 12 months and other unique and inspiring entrepreneurs under the age of 30 who are creating businesses, creating employment and creating opportunities for South Jersey .
Daniel Werremeyer
Daniel Werremeyer is currently the President of Instride Shoes LLC, which is a leading manufacture of orthopedic and diabetic footwear. He is also a consultant in the shoe business and has worked with many top shoe companies including Brooks, Ralph Lauren Polo, Pony, Wilson , and Nautica providing sourcing and design services. Most recently he was the President of Etonic Athletic Worldwide one of the oldest Running, Walking and Comfort shoe companies in the USA . He has over 20 years experience in the footwear business including 2 years living in South Korea working for the largest shoe manufacture in the world Hwa Sung Corporation. In addition to the footwear business, he started a clothing company in 1997called Ripzone that specialized in Snowboard apparel building it into the 3rd largest brand in its category before the company was sold. Robert Bobby Chez Sliwowski
At age 8 Robert Sliwowski , a.k.a. 'Bobby Chez' was selling fruit flavored snowballs from his small wagon. Most of the other older kids offered three flavors. Bobby offered ten. At age fifteen, Bobby and his mother, Phyllis, worked the hot dog concession stand at Woodcrest Country Club. At age 23, Sliwowski operated the kitchen of the Country Squire Motor Lodge. After six months of operation, Bobby decided to open his own restaurant South Jersey 's legendary Chez Robert was born. He was the owner and chef of Chez Robert from 1976 until 1995 at its three different locations. In 1997, Sliwowski opened Bobby Chez Seafood Specialties in Voorhees , New Jersey .
