MOORESTOWN, NEW JERSEY (APRIL 2007) – Entrepreneur Chris Miles, president and founder of Miles Technologies, announces the launch of “A Step Toward Hope” , a 501-C3 charity providing assistance—financial and otherwise—to those suffering with paralysis and other neurological disorders in the southern New Jersey and surrounding areas, and raising funds for researching new treatments and cures for paralysis.

Miles has seen the devastating effects of paralysis firsthand when his mother-in-law suffered an accident in 2003, leaving her paralyzed from the neck down. “I felt completely helpless. Watching a loved one suffer and not being able to do anything was a problem I could not solve,” says Chris Miles, entrepreneur and founder of A Step Toward Hope . “But I was determined to do something, to try and solve something. Thus, A Step Towards Hope was born. The goal is to ensure no one will ever have to go through this again.”

Chris Miles' determination is legendary. At the age of 26, with no outside capital he founded Miles Technologies which grew from a $50,000 business in its first year to the multi-million dollar operation it is today, cementing his reputation as an innovator and business leader.

Begun as an annual gala to raise money for the paralysis cause, A Step Toward Hope thrived and grew into a standalone charity. Upcoming events include a benefit at Masso's Columbus Manor in Williamstown on May 19 th for Scott Jones, a local young man paralyzed while working in Hawaii . Scott's family is raising money to bring him home via air-ambulance. Also coming up is “A Step Toward Hope Night” at the Camden Riversharks on June 28 th .
