Technology Equals Opportunity (TEO) has completed its third technology-based initiative with the donation of five new laptops to One Simple Wish. TEO’s Scott Hoover acted as the primary facilitator of this project, coordinating the donation of the laptops to the non-profit organization focused on providing laptops and tablets to deserving children in foster care.
Working with One Simple Wish’s Executive Director, Danielle Gletow, TEO’s Scott Hoover coordinated the donation of five brand new laptops to One Simple Wish. One Simple Wish will in turn coordinate the donation of the computers to impoverished families and foster children in the area. Since 2009, One Simple Wish, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit corporation, has granted over 500 laptops and tablets for children currently in foster care or have aged out of the foster care system. These computers enable these children to stay connected to siblings and other family members they may be apart from while in foster care.
With the donation of these laptop computers, TEO, a non-profit initiative of Miles Technologies, has now completed three projects that donate technology to deserving causes. Through the donation of technology, it is TEO’s hope that the access to computers will significantly benefit present and future students and position them for future success. The organization will continue to seek future initiatives where technology can be utilized to make a difference in people’s lives by creating opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable.
